This is a list of Hadith that will be discussed on Radio Ramadan Edinburgh by the presenters.

Narrated Aisha (ra), the wife of the Prophet (saw):
The Prophet (saw) used to practice Itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan till he died and then his wives used to practice itikaf after him.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas:
The Prophet said, ‘There are two blessings which many people lose: Health and free time for doing good”
[Al- Bukhari 76:421]

Narrated Ibn Abbas (ra) in this quotation:
Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, (“The night of Qadr) is in the last 10 nights of the month, either in the first nine or the last 7 days”

Narrated by ‘Aisha:
Allah’s Apostle said, “No calamity befalls a Muslim but that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it, even though it were a prick he received from a thorn”

Allah’s Apostle said:
“There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him.”
[Al-Bukhari 39:513]

Narrated Sahl (ra): The Prophet (saw) said:
“There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe Sawm (fasts) will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, ’Where are those who used to observe Sawm (fasts)?’ They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it.”
[Al-Bukhari]

On the authority of Abu Dhar Jundub bin Junadah, and Muadh bin Jabal that the messenger of Allah said:
"Fear Allah wherever you are, and follow up a bad deed with a good one and it will wipe it out, and behave well towards people."

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said: The messenger of Allah said:
"Part of someone's being a good Muslim is his leaving alone that which does not concern him."

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven."
[Bukhari, Muslim]

Narrated by ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr:
I heard the Prophet saying, “Allah did not deprive you of knowledge after he has given it to you, but it will be taken away through the death of the religious learned men with their knowledge. Then there will remain ignorant people who, when consulted, will give verdicts according to their opinions whereby they will mislead others and go astray”
[Bukhari 92:410]

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said : the messenger of Allah said:
"Allah the Almighty is good and accepts only that which is good. Allah has commanded the faithful to do that which he commanded the messengers, and the Almighty has said: "O ye messengers ! Eat of the good things and do right". And Allah the Almighty has said : "O ye who believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you"
Then he mentioned [the case of] a man who, having journeyed far, is dishevelled and dusty and who spreads out his hands to the sky [saying]: "O Lord! O Lord!" - while his food is unlawful, his drink unlawful, his clothing unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully, so how can he be answered!"

On the authority of Abdullah bin Abbas, who said:
One day I was behind the Prophet and he said to me: "Young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allah; if you seek help, seek help of Allah. Know that if the Nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, it would benefit you only with something that Allah had already prescribed for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried."

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle p.b.u.h said, "The example of a believer is that of a fresh green plant the leaves of which move in whatever direction the wind forces them to move and when the wind becomes still, it stands straight. Such is the similitude of the believer: He is disturbed by calamities (but is like the fresh plant he regains his normal state soon). And the example of a disbeliever is that of a pine tree (which remains) hard and straight till Allah cuts it down when He wills."
[Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 93, Number 558]

As reported by Al-Tirmidhi, the Messenger of Allah (saws) has been reported as saying:
"There are three categories of people whose supplications will not be rejected: the person who observes the fast until he breaks it, a just ruler, and a person who has been oppressed."

"Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration was for Allah and His messenger, his migration was for Allah and His messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated."
[Al-Bukhari]

Narrated by Anas:
Allah’s Apostle said: “Help your brother whether he is an oppressor or an oppressed,” A man said, “O Allah’s Apostle! I will help him if he is oppressed, but if he is an oppressor, how should I help him?” The Prophet said, “By preventing him from oppressing (others), for that is how to help him.”
[Al-Bukhari: 85, 84]

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (ra):
The Prophet said “Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. The first is a person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; (the second is) the one whom Allah has given Al-Hikmah [wisdom] and he acts according to it and teaches it to others.”
[Bukhari]

On the authority of Anas ibn Malik, it is noted that the Prophet (s.a.w.) has said:
“None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself"

The Messenger of Allah said “Wealth does not diminish giving sadaqah (charity). Allah augments the one who forgives; and no one humbles himself for Allah, but Allah will exalt him in ranks.”

Abu Hurairah (raa) relates the Messenger of Allah (saw) said when one Ramadan came:
"A blessed month has arrived. Observing it in fasting is mandated on you (the believers). During this month, the gates of Paradise will be opened and the gates of Hellfire will be closed. The evil ones (Shayaatin) will be handcuffed. In it there is one night, during which worship is better than worship in a thousand months. Whoever is denied its blessings has been denied the biggest blessing." 
(Ahmed, Nasaae, and Bayhaqi)

The Prophet (Sallallahhualihiwasalam) said:
“When the son of Adam dies his actions come to an end except three things, a continuing charity or knowledge which gives benefit or a pious child who prays for him”
(Sahih Muslim)

Narrated Abu Hurairah, r.a. Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
"When someone with whose religion and character you are satisfied asks your daughter in marriage, accede to his request. If you do not do so, there will be temptation on Earth and extensive corruption."
[Tirmidhi, Nasa'i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.]

The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said:
“The son of Adam will not pass away from Allah until he is asked about five things: how he lived his life, and how he utilized his youth, with what means did he earn his wealth, how did he spend his wealth, and what did he do with his knowledge.”

I heard Allah’s Messenger saying, “If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion.”

Narrated Abu Hurairah (ra):
I heard the Prophet saying, “If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him?” They said, “Not a trace of dirt would be left.” The Prophet added “That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out evil deeds.”
[Bukhari, 1: 506]

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said a man said to the Prophet:
"Counsel me". He said: "Do not become angry". The man repeated [his request] several times, and he said: "Do not become angry ".

The messenger of Allah (saws) reported in a hadith al-Qudsi that Allah (SWT) said: 
"All acts done by the sons of Adam are meant for him, except fasting. It is exclusively meant for Me, and I (alone) will reward him for it" 
(Bukhari and Muslim)
